Important Information

Homework:

  •      Reading should be completed a minimum of 4 times a week for 15 minutes. Children begin Reception with a wordless book, focusing on using their imagination to create a story, reading comprehension and enjoying their first reading books. We then regularly assess the children's phonic knowledge to ensure they always have a book that is fully decodable and a book that your child should be able to read with fluency. Books will be changed every Friday if they have been read 4 times. Please record in your child’s reading diary when they have read.

PE kit:

  • House coloured t-shirt
  • Black shorts
  • Black jumper for colder weather
  • Black P.E. slip-on or velcro pumps/daps/plimsolls or trainers that the child is able to manage themselves

For safety reasons, long hair must be tied back and earrings removed or covered.

Our PE day is Thursday.

Children are expected to come into school wearing their PE kit on a Thursday, bringing their school uniform in a bag to get changed into after the lesson.

Forest School kit:

Children take part in outdoor learning whatever the weather and will need:

  • Waterproof coat and trousers / all in one suit
  • Wellington boots
  • Extra hat, scarf, gloves
  • Please ensure that all of these items are named.

Forest School sessions take place on a Tuesday every term.

Children are expected to come into school wearing their waterproofs over their school uniform on a Tuesday, with wellies in a bag or left at school.
