A Warm Welcome

Longford Park Primary Academy is a truly exciting place to learn. No day is ever the same and there is always something new to discover.

Our beautiful GLA Trust school and nursery opened in the heart of Longford in September 2017 and has already developed a reputation as an excellent choice for local children. We are all flying high at Longford Park!.

The weather forecast indicates that we are likely to experience very warm temperatures. To help keep all children safe and comfortable during the hot weather, we kindly ask for your support with the following:

- Please ensure your child brings a named water bottle to school each day.
- Apply a long-lasting sunscreen before your child comes to school. - If your child needs to reapply sunscreen during the day, please provide a clearly labelled bottle and ensure they can apply it independently.
- Send your child to school wearing a sun hat or cap.
- Wherever possible, dress your child in lightweight, breathable clothing that complies with the school uniform policy. We would suggest summer dresses for girls, PE kit or shorts and a lightweight shirt for boys, children can wear their PE kit if you prefer.

During periods of high temperatures, we will:

- Encourage children to drink water regularly.
- Make use of shaded areas during break and lunchtime.
- Reduce or adapt strenuous outdoor activities where appropriate.
- If the temperature exceeds 28 degrees, we will keep them inside

Nursery children:
Please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately, and that you have provided suncream

Thank you for your support in helping us keep everyone safe and comfortable during the warmer weather.
