Welcome to our Year 2 class page. The pupils in Year 2 are enthusiastic and try their best in all areas of their learning.

Our teacher is Mrs Evans. We also have Mrs McKenzie, Miss Allen, Mrs Johnson and Mrs Raasenthiran who support us in our learning.

Important Information

Homework:

Reading should be completed a minimum of 4 times a week for 15 minutes. Pupils will have a book linked to their ELS Phonics. Phonics assessments are given so the book is carefully matched to their current ability. Books will be changed every Friday if they have been read 4 times. Please record in your child’s reading diary when you have read.

Spellings - These contain words to embed the sounds we have learnt in that week. Spellings will go out weekly and these will be tested once a week on a Monday.

Numbots - it is recommended that they play for short bursts so we would ask you to give them at least 3 minutes, five times a week to practise. They will receive awards for completing levels.

PE kit:

House coloured t-shirt
Black shorts
Black jumper for colder weather
Black P.E. slip-on or velcro pumps/daps/plimsolls or trainers that the child is able to manage themselves

For safety reasons, long hair must be tied back and earrings removed or covered.

Our PE days are Mondays and Thursdays.
